“Shippers are finally in the position of obtaining real-time in-transit visibility, but there are some major obstacles standing in the way of full deployment, and getting to 100% end-to-end visibility”, says Krenar Komoni, founder and chief executive officer of Tive.
The interview took place during the Gartner Supply Chain Executive Conference 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona - a fitting location to discuss the current maturity of the market and the steps that must be taken to reach mass adoption.
One of the biggest themes in the interview were defining the steps that must be taken from all players in the industry to facilitate complete real-time visibility across all areas of the global supply chain.
Krenar goes on to discuss that as sensors become more cost effective and the concept of leveraging cellular connected IoT technology in order to obtain real-time in transit visibility of goods independent of the carrier or mode of transportation becomes more widely accepted, and that he is optimistic shippers will soon be able to achieve true 100% end-to-end visibility.
