Last week I had the pleasure of attending Hannover Fair, one of the largest trade shows in the world. Even more exciting than just being at the show, I was there with our partner Nokia as they shared their vision of how a real-time view of their supply chain will change their operations.
Hannover Fair - It's huge
Let me just get this out of the way - Hannover Fair (Hanover Messe, for you German-speakers) is huge. More than 200,000 people attend to see more than 6,000 exhibitors, making it one of the largest shows in the world. You can see everything at Hanover - robots, control systems, jet engines, trucks, you name it.
Nokia tells the Tive story
Of course my favorite booth was the Nokia booth. Part of the BITKOM exhibit, Nokia was at Hannover talking about using connected devices to improve their supply chain operations. Titled "IoT Proof of Concept: Supply Chain Data Sensing", Nokia's presentation covered how they are using the Tive product to track deliveries from their outbound European hub to installations in North America. During the show executives from Nokia talked to hundreds of visitors about how an always-connected tracking device gives them the visibility they need to ensure deliveries are on time and intact, as well as their plans for using this data in the future to improve their outbound delivery operations.
In addition to Tive, Nokia shared other initiatives such as augmented reality to change the installation process for basestations and using a private LTE cellular network to securely connect factory solutions.
We couldn't be more excited to be working with Nokia as they build the connected supply chain of the future and we're grateful to the Global Operations (GOPS) team for inviting Tive to be part of their exhibit.
