Tive offers a variety of user-configured alerts - temperature, shock, humidity - and we're excited to announce that as of today we also support location-based alerts.
Define a "Geofence"
Our new alert feature allows the user to enter an address as a data point then request an alert when the shipment arrives at that location or departs from that location. You can even set the distance to trigger the alert (by adjusting the blue slider on the right side). As usual, alert notifications can be sent via email or text message.
"I'm here!" Said Your Shipment
With a geofence set, you will know immediately when a shipment departs or arrives. You might use a geofence to get notified when a shipment:
- Arrives at the customer so you can send an invoice
- Leaves your supplier's facility so you can schedule your production
- Arrives at a port so you know the long ocean voyage is complete
- Leaves a port after an unknown time clearing customs
Future Applications
The Tive product is constantly improving. There are many other applications of geofencing that we will be rolling out over the next few months, including reporting and analysis tools that will help our customers better understand how their goods are actually traveling. Stay tuned!
